We are looking for a Construction Manager to join our Building operating unit in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. The successful candidate will manage, monitor and supervise the construction works at a West Cambridgeshire Military Project. This includes interfacing with United states security personnel and following US security protocols, Applicants must hold a current SC certificate and have knowledge of the USA BOM security protocols
What you'll do:

• Manage the trade contractors including the production of works to drawings and specifications, manage performance on site.
• Oversee subcontractors, labour and material requirements for the contract and support Project Managers with matters primarily relating to on and off-site activities
• Coordinate and manage trades on site with regards to both build trades and MEP trades
• Solve site problems when they occur, providing feedback to Project Managers on any defects or defaults found and put forward any innovative ideas to alter current methodology
• Understand the design process, and work with the design manager, within cost restraints, to facilitate the design, and coordination of production information, to suit site requirements and conditions
• Regularly inspect works for compliance with design, and specifications, and ensure all design solutions offered by designers and sub-contractors fully comply with the project requirements.

What you'll bring to the role:

• Construction related qualification to HNC level.
• Member, or working towards membership, of a professional institution (MCIOB/ICE highly desirable)
• Be in possession of a current Managers CSCS card and other relevant qualifications including SMSTS & First Aider Qualified
• Previous experience working managing building constructions.
• Hold a current transferable SC level security clearance
• Have working knowledge of the USA BOM security protocols
• Strength in sub-contract & Package Management
• Good knowledge of Programme Management
• Quality management
• Commercial awareness

Security Clearance
This role requires a minimum level of security clearance and may also require a higher level of National Security Vetting. You should be aware that certain levels of clearance or specific projects and/or sites have UK residency requirements; and any dual or multiple nationalities must be declared. Any persons who do not fulfil these residency requirements may be unable to obtain the required level of clearance and would not be eligible to undertake this role.
