About the Role



We're seeking a

Senior Laboratory Technician / Supervisor

to join our dynamic Construction Materials Testing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated professional to take the next step in their career -- leading a dedicated lab crew and ensuring the highest standards in materials testing and quality control.

In this role, you'll oversee day-to-day operations in the laboratory, manage testing programs for

soils, concrete, aggregates, and asphalt

, and ensure compliance with industry standards such as

AS, ASTM, and AASHTO

. You'll be a hands-on leader who values precision, safety, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities



Supervise and mentor laboratory technicians and field staff. Plan, schedule, and manage laboratory testing programs for soils, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates. Conduct and review test results to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications. Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure calibration and traceability of test instruments. Prepare reports, maintain QA/QC documentation, and liaise with project managers and clients. Drive continuous improvement in laboratory efficiency, safety, and quality standards.

About You



Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline. Extensive experience in a construction materials testing or geotechnical laboratory environment. Strong understanding of testing methods (AS, ASTM, or equivalent). Proven leadership or supervisory experience within a laboratory setting. Excellent attention to detail, organisational, and communication skills. Commitment to safety and quality assurance principles.
