Hiring: Construction Project Manager - Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
Location: Home-based (with site visits as required)
We are seeking a proactive, hands-on Construction Project Manager to oversee and manage the construction phase of grid-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Site Monitoring & Inspections

• Oversee principal contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with programme, safety rules, and environmental regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections and take corrective actions where needed.
• Manage site access and assist in resolving on-site issues promptly.

Reporting & Communication

• Act as the main liaison between client and contractor.
• Provide clear, professional weekly reports and maintain detailed project logs.
• Capture and document site progress with photos and videos for records and publicity.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Represent the client in project meetings with contractors, communities, and other stakeholders.
• Escalate key issues based on urgency and importance.

Requirements

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Site Management Safety Training Certificate (SMSTC) and CSCS card
• HNC Degree or equivalent in a construction-related discipline
• Project Management qualification or proven track record
• NEBOSH Occupational Health & Safety Certificate (or equivalent)
• First Aid certification
• Experience managing large-scale energy projects with multiple contractors
• Knowledge of planning and environmental regulations for energy infrastructure
• Experience with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) is an advantage
