Job Description

Job Purpose:



The Construction Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, attracting, and hiring qualified candidates for roles within the construction industry -- including MACHINE DRIVER, DUMPER ROLLER DRIVER, FORKLIFT DRIVER, KERB/SLAB/PIPELAYER. The role involves managing the full recruitment cycle, maintaining candidate pipelines, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:



Identify hiring needs and develop job descriptions in collaboration with project managers and department heads. Source candidates through multiple channels (job boards, social media, networking, trade associations, referrals, and recruitment databases). Screen resumes, conduct interviews, and assess candidate qualifications and fit for various construction roles. Manage the full recruitment lifecycle -- from initial outreach to offer negotiation and onboarding. Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline for current and future construction projects. Coordinate with site managers and HR teams to ensure timely staffing for projects. Stay informed about industry trends, pay rates, certifications, and labour market conditions. Ensure all recruitment activities comply with employment legislation, health and safety standards, and diversity policies. Represent the company at job fairs, trade shows, and networking events. Maintain accurate records of candidates and recruitment activity in the applicant tracking system (ATS).

Key Skills and Competencies:



Strong knowledge of the construction industry and its roles, qualifications, and safety requirements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational and time-management abilities. Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and online job platforms. Negotiation and relationship management skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Education and Experience Requirements:



Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred). Proven experience as a recruiter -- ideally in construction, engineering, or a skilled trades environment. Familiarity with CSCS/CPCS qualifications and UK construction employment regulations. Knowledge of right-to-work verification and compliance procedures.

Working Conditions:
