Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Manager to oversee operations at our site in Bridgewater. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all site activities are conducted efficiently and safely. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Control and implementation of procedures as set out in the Site Manager's Site Safety Pack.

To implement Method Statements and ensure the works are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety Regulations.

Monitoring safety standards on site and action as required.

The co-ordination and distribution of materials from date of shipment through to site installation.

Inspection, checking and control that all deliveries are complete and free from damage, delivery tickets and orders check/sign off are complete.

Producing, maintaining and issue of daily records including obtaining of site instructions and day works accordingly including the recording of delays/hold up's etc.

Monitor on site progress versus programme and action as required to maintain progress in line with programme period.

Site adopting/creating systems of work and preparation to enable a more efficient utilisation of labour plant and materials.

Organising and controlling of sub-contract labour including dealing with payments and disciplinary matters.

Controlling plant and materials including costs.

Ensuring high standards of workmanship and good housekeeping are achieved at all times.

Ensuring works are completed, de-snagged and handed over as works progress.

Ensuring the works are installed and completed in accordance with the specification, the relevant QA procedures.

Implementation and control of site QA procedures.

Attend meetings with the main contractor/client such as, programme, co-ordination, safety etc.

Ensuring Client satisfaction is maintained and enhanced.

Reporting and application of all Company policies, which may from time to time, be reviewed.

SUMMARY OF HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBLITIES



Will have a delegated duty and be directly responsible for the implementation of the organisation's General Policy on Safety, Health and Environment, within all construction activities undertaken by CA Roofing Services.

Will have a good understanding and work to the structure of the site health and safety files.

Will be instrumental in setting the safety action plan devised as a result of a risk assessment, reviewing progress towards achievement of the objectives, so that progressive improvement is being attained and maintained.

Will personally develop and promote a safety culture and philosophy which permeates into all activities undertaken and reaches all personnel involved in them.

Will have a good understanding of the Regulations, Approved Code of Practices and industry guidance which govern the organisation's activities.

Will make channels of communication available to employees and sub-contractors so that safety, health and environment issues can be discussed and understood to ensure that stipulated systems of work are implemented e.g. verbal contact or formal meetings.

Will ensure that all employees and subcontractors are competent and adequately trained to perform the tasks they will undertake, identifying training needs and arranging for them to be met and to gather in evidence of this training.

Will ensure that all activities are covered by Method Statements, and safe systems of working, periodically reviewing each system for accuracy and content.

Will monitor fire precautions in the area of control and ensure adequate arrangements for fire safety are made for any site work undertaken. Will ensure that employees and subcontractors know what actions to take in the event of fire.

Will ensure that the arrangements made for first aid provisions are appropriate to the hazards and risks involved and have been brought to the attention of all employees and sub-contractors.

Will ensure that adequate welfare facilities are provided for all employees and subcontractors under control, where appropriate, by arrangement with the client / principal contractor.

Will ensure that all assessment duties, i.e. Risk, COSHH, Noise, Manual Handling, etc have been undertaken and the necessary follow up actions taken, with relevant information provided to employees.

Will investigate and report on all accidents and dangerous occurrences in the area of control and ensure all are recorded and reported as appropriate.

Will ensure that all projects are carried out in compliance with legislation applicable to construction sites (CDM, etc).

Will ensure that any sub-contractors used are adequately assessed for competence and their performance monitored to ensure that they work to their declared method statement and risk assessment.

Will ensure that all items of plant, machinery and equipment receive appropriate maintenance and the necessary records kept, including all items of portable equipment used on site and in the office.

Will ensure that a safe working environment is maintained in all areas under control.

Will ensure adequate provision for health and safety within estimates.

Experience in the roofing and cladding industry is desirable.
