Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Construction Site Manager
to oversee the day-to-day operations of a utility-scale
solar farm construction project
. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site activities, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining health and safety compliance, ensuring programme targets are achieved, and delivering a quality project on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all on-site construction activities for the solar farm project from mobilisation through to handover.
Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, and suppliers to ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to specification.
Oversee site logistics, plant management, material deliveries, and resource allocation.
Maintain and enforce strict health, safety, and environmental standards in line with company policies and statutory requirements.
Monitor progress against the construction programme and report to the Project Manager on key milestones, delays, and mitigation measures.
Conduct regular site inspections, quality checks, and ensure compliance with technical drawings and specifications.
Liaise with the client, consultants, and project stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and problem resolution.
Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, permits, toolbox talks, and site diaries.
Support the commissioning and handover process in collaboration with the electrical and quality teams.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Site Manager or similar role in the construction or renewable energy sector.
Strong background in
civil engineering, electrical infrastructure
, or
utility-scale solar farm construction
preferred.
Excellent understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid certification required.
Full UK driving licence.
