Fully remote working with travel to various training centres and employer sites on occasions.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic person to be responsible for overseeing and supporting a team of tutor and assessors to ensure the efficient, high-quality, and compliant delivery of vocational assessments. This role is pivotal in maintaining assessment standards, driving learner progression, and optimising assessor performance and workload.

Acting as a leader in our business, you will provide key infrastructure recommendations and targeted support to services that ensure we are meeting their regulatory requirements and to assist in highlighting early areas that need support. In addition, you will develop and deliver a UK-wide business plan that is consistent with the overall business strategy working closely with the Head of Operations, and other SLT level professionals. You will have direct interaction with various departments, multiple areas and senior managers across the business. The role will have overall accountability for the development and commercial success of our expansion plans including the development our employer network.

They will be expected to lead individual assignments as directed by the Head of Operations. The ideal candidate will need to be a good leader and have excellent communication and people skills to motivate your team. Ideally you will have previous experience within a major works team and have a good understanding of delivery activities which will include for the role:

Maintenance of the tutor and assessor P&L as part of the full operations budget. This will include monitoring the bottom line by reducing resource costs as well as having tutors and assessors on freelance basis so within their contract they only get paid for hours worked. Procure learners with targets provided by HoD. Provide guidance and active contribution to enable the HoD to introduce more products and NVQ trades. Support HoD to maintain up to date product pricing. Conduct regular reviews of tutor and assessor caseloads, monitoring volume, complexity, and learner status to ensure equitable distribution and manage workload effectively. Identify and address potential bottlenecks or capacity issues within the team. Provide expert guidance, mentoring, and continuous professional development to the tutoring team. Offer support on complex assessment decisions, qualification requirements, and best practices in observation and feedback. Track and review hours worked against allocated targets and delivery plans, ensuring efficient use of time and adherence to agreed performance metrics. Contribute to resource planning and devise the delivery schedule based on workload analysis. Proactively monitor and drive learner progression rates, identifying any learners at risk of delay. Collaborate with assessors to implement intervention strategies and ensure timely achievement of milestones and overall qualification completion. Prepare regular reports on assessor performance, learner progression, and caseload management for senior leadership. Work collaboratively with the Internal Quality Assurer (IQA), Operations team, and curriculum developers to ensure seamless delivery and continuous improvement of assessment processes.

Skills & Experience



Management of ROI for the team Proven experience as a qualified Assessor in relevant vocational areas. Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification (e.g., Level 4 Award in IQA) or willingness to achieve. Demonstrable experience in mentoring, guiding, or leading a team. Strong understanding of vocational qualification frameworks and awarding body requirements. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of providing constructive feedback and fostering a supportive team environment. Proficiency in using learner management systems and relevant software. Level 3 Award in Education & Training / PTTLs (nice to have)

We are offering a competitive salary, 20 days paid holiday plus bank holidays for a full-time week - hours 9 - 5pm.

Pay: 35,000.00-40,000.00 per year
