The Cotswold Canals Connected Partnership aims is restore the Stroudwater Canal in time for the 250th Anniversary in 2029. The project started in 2008 and we have recently secured additional funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and project partners for the final phase of works: the Missing Mile project and reconnection at Saul Junction.

The Construction Works Manager is a new role and will co-ordinate and oversee the delivery of specific contractor and volunteer led canal restoration projects. This is a three year, full time salaried role in the Engineering Team.

Key Responsibilities will include

Act as the day-to-day site lead, coordinating and overseeing on-site construction, volunteer activities, subcontractor works, and logistics associated with the Phase 1B works; Report directly to the Chief Engineer of the Trust and work closely with other CCT managers, staff, volunteers, and delivery partners to ensure the works are carried out efficiently, safely, and in accordance with programme requirements; Maintain a visible and consistent site presence during active work periods, ensuring compliance with method statements, risk assessments, and site protocols; Provide technical input, supervision, and direction to support quality assurance, safe systems of work, and resolution of on-site problems as they arise; Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and consultants to support coordination and sequencing of works; Maintain site records and logs as required and assist in preparing reports, updates, or returns for funding or regulatory bodies when requested; Champion a positive safety culture and support continuous improvement in volunteer and workforce engagement.

Pay: 48,000.00-52,000.00 per year
