We are looking for versatile, enthusiastic individuals to join our Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry teams to support us on our improvement and transformation journey.This a fantastic time to join us we need forward thinking, dynamic change agents to join our teams who would offer first class clinical leadership and clinical care across all our Mental Health Specialities and who will support is in our on-going journey of transformation by bringing new ways looking at issues and thinking about how we deliver services.You must be registered with a licence to practice with the GMC with a CCT in General Adult Psychiatry or MRCPsych or recognised equivalent is a requirement for this post. All applicants must have Section 12 Approval and Approved Clinician Status when taking up this post.We're happy to discuss your specific career requirement with you and may be able to offer blended job plans, opportunities for Speciality Lead and education, training or research as well as flexible working opportunities or a more traditional 10 session role if this is what you are looking for.We can also offer you*Support with Housing costs and a Relocation assistance of up to 8K*10% responsibility allowance for Adult Inpatient and Inpatient Specialist Services Role*Pension alternative contribution policy*At least 2.5 SPAs (Pro-rata)*Opportunities to be a Clinical/Educational Supervisor.Main duties of the jobThe post holders will be responsible for providing clinical care and be the responsible clinician for up to 18 inpatients, depending on which ward the post is aligned to.As well as providing clinical leadership to the team and liaising with a wide variety of other stakeholders both in the locality and the wider geographical area the trust covers.The consultants will have the support from the acute inpatient services which is established at 3 WTE consultants. The posts are supported by a two Middle grade Doctors who are shared across the 4 wards and 5 core trainees as wells as, nursing staff, OT, psychology and support staff. Qualifications
Essential

  • Full Registration with the General Medical Council
  • MRCPsych or recognised equivalent
  • Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 12 months of CCT at time of interview. CCT in general adult psychiatry.
  • Approved under section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983.
