We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Community Children and Young People's (CYPS) Mental Health Team in North East Hampshire, based at the Aldershot Centre for Health.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established, welcoming, and multi-skilled team that supports the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people aged 5 to 18. Our service provides specialist assessments, evidence-based treatments and ongoing support for young people with a range of emotional, behavioural, and complex mental health needs.
You'll provide clinical leadership and direct psychiatric input as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes psychologists, nurses, therapists, and support workers. You'll work with schools, GPs, local authorities and other partners to ensure coordinated and person-centred care. The team also has strong links to our Eating Disorder Service, Crisis Intervention and Early Intervention in Psychosis teams.
You'll be joining a Trust committed to early intervention, prevention, and supporting young people to thrive. If you're passionate about improving outcomes for children and families, we'd love to hear from you!
You'll have the opportunity of working within a well-established and friendly team of highly skilled professionals who are passionate and committed to the care needs of our children and young people.
You would be responsible for providing a diagnostic, assessment and treatment service for children and adolescents with mental health problems within a multi-disciplinary approach to care, promoting high-quality multidisciplinary working and relationships. On average, a full-time consultant would complete 2-3 monthly assessments. Patients have a consultant review after 6 weeks of treatment in the team and then every 2-3 months.
You will participate in an emergency out-of-hours rota, providing back-up for junior doctors and professionals in assessing young people seen in A&E.
You'll have opportunities to support, supervise and train our Junior Medical Staff within the team.
