About Us
The Water Management Consortium provides water level management services for Lindsey Marsh Drainage Board, the Isle of Axholme and North Nottinghamshire Water Level Management Board, Trent Valley Internal Drainage Board and Doncaster East Internal Drainage Board, managing 92 pumping stations and 2,400km of watercourse that protect assets across an area of 147,665 hectares.

The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join a small but dedicated team in a newly created role. The successful candidate will be part of the Corporate Services Team assisting with the production of publicity material, website improvements and social media posts to promote and raise the profile of the Boards, and to support the team in delivering an excellent level of customer service and engagement. This is the ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in publicity and customer service as part of a collaborative team.
You will be responsible for:
1. Preparation of a Communications Plan to advise on ways to improve awareness of the Boards' activities and external engagement.
2. Updating and improve the aesthetics of the website and ensure that content is up to date and compliant with audit requirements.
3. Managing the Boards' social media accounts on a day-to-day basis including production and editing of content.
4. Monitoring and reporting on metrics to demonstrate media following/website views and keep a record of any external presentations/face-to-face engagement.
5. Preparation of engaging video and photographic content for the website to illustrate the work undertaken by the Boards and maintain a library of photographs for use in presentations/exhibitions.
6. Drafting fortnightly news stories for approval to keep the website up to date with relevant topics.
7. Preparation of presentations for internal and external meetings, display boards and drafting internal newsletters.
8. Influencing internally across the Consortium to ensure consistency with branding, including the creation of template documents and assisting with formatting and production of Policy Documents and Board Reports.
9. Monitoring queries and complaints, highlighting any areas of concern, and generate fortnightly and bi-monthly reports.
10. Liaise with Emergency Relief volunteers, keeping them up to date with relevant topics.
11. Point of contact for IDB Museums, assisting them with administration and publicity as required to increase visitor numbers and volunteers. Keep volunteers up to date with relevant topics.
12. Assist with setting up for events and meetings, liaising with the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Manager.
You will require skills, knowledge and experience in the following areas:
1. GCSEs in English and Mathematics (Grade 5 and above) or equivalent.
2. Good knowledge and understanding of the work we do or a genuine interest and willingness to learn. An interest in the past, present and future of IDBs and the challenges faced.
3. Photography and video creation.
4. Digital editing.
5. Website and digital content creation.
6. IT savvy with proficiency in the use of MS Word, Publisher and Power Point.
7. Creative and innovative ideas.
8. Strong written communication, focussed on accuracy and an attention to detail.
9. Professional manner, good listener and communicator.
10. Positive and enthusiastic approach.
11. Self-motivated, able to prioritise and meet deadlines, organised and confident.
12. Team player, helping to achieve and encourage collaboration across departments.
13. Strong Customer service approach.
