to join

Smithers Materials Science and Engineering Division

. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the marketing of a portfolio of technical services.

We help our clients innovate, launch new products, meet sustainability goals, solve problems and comply with regulations - through a range of trusted packaging and materials testing, consulting and compliance services.

Content Marketing Specialist

you'll be working with the Director of Marketing and our team of industry experts to create content that engages and generates business with clients across a range of industries including medical and pharmaceutical, consumer goods, transportation, energy and industrial.

What You'll Be Doing:



Create and deliver impactful and engaging B2B marketing content that resonates with our target audience and aligns with Smithers brand values.

Use a range of content formats, from videos and infographics to long-form articles, web pages, news items, white papers and webinars to drive lead and enquiry generation and cultivate our business profile.

Create relevant content with a mix of approaches:

o Writing and creating content and assets yourself.

o Collaborating with Smithers experts, editing and repurposing their materials.

o Working with and project-managing external providers such as designers and videographers.

Build a good understanding of our services, target audience and industry drivers to ensure your content is aligned and effective.

Publish and broadcast content across channels such as web and social media.

Manage the content plan and influence stakeholders to ensure a consistent flow of material.

As well as supporting search ranking and visibility with your content, you will also build search knowledge and support dedicated search marketing campaigns and activities.

Continuously analyse performance, report key metrics, make recommendations to improve impact.

Keep up with industry best practices, continually improve content activity and contribute to strategy.

What You'll Bring



Firsthand experience in B2B content creation and best practices using a range of formats (including long form articles, infographics, videos, audio, webinars, news items).

Excellent writing skills, a knack for storytelling, and the ability to think strategically about how to reach your target audience.

Ability to grasp new concepts and develop messaging that makes complex topics clear and accessible.

Experience in increasing audience engagement, conversion and lead generation using content.

A curious and analytical approach to your work, always learning and looking to improve outcomes.

Excellent written English and strong attention to detail.

Search and AI savvy, you know what drives success with search and how AI is shaking things up.

Confident communicator, able to liaise with external partners, suppliers, and internal teams.

Comfortable working on multiple projects and delivering to deadlines.
