Job Description

The role of Content Specialist is to help develop and execute content strategies to drive valuable, targeted, traffic and generate business for our clients. Working with and supporting the Content Team and assisting with the Content management.

Reporting to the Head of Content, you will also build strong relationships with: -

The Content and Social Media Team

The Technical Team

The Paid Team

The Senior Management Team

The Administration and Finance Team

Role responsibilities include: -



Creating content, republishing and optimisation plans

Writing engaging blogs, pages, product and republishing for a wide variety of audiences, including business to business and business to consumer retail

Checking copy (proofreading and reviewing SEO value)

Research topic areas for client content calendar development

Building buyer personas

Carrying out client competitor and industry research

Carrying out Keyword, related questions research and SERP analysis

Understanding best SEO practices and applying these to the work being carried out

Implementation of content campaigns including content creation, on-page optimisation, link building and email campaigns

Adding and monitoring of keywords to tracking software, e.g., Moz and SEMrush

Manage multiple client projects simultaneously while ensuring deadlines are met at all times

Support the Client Development Manager

Strong communication within the wider Zelst Team

Assist with the preparation of report data and reports

Assist with the preparation of presentation material, content and presenting

Key skills, experience and attributes



Excellent understanding of written and spoken English

Excellent writing skills

Interpret constructive feedback and implementation

Strong communication skills - both written and verbal

Highly organised and the ability to multi-task and prioritise

Good understanding of office tools (Google Suite, Word, Excel and Powerpoint)

Excellent level of attention to detail

Be forward thinking

Be solutions oriented

Be proactive with a 'can do' approach to work and good team player

Eager to learn and progress with a curiosity to explore new approaches to challenges

Experience in using Google Analytics (Google Certification preferable)

Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Understanding of search engine algorithms and best practices and how SEO affects the success of digital content

Have some experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript and their potential impact on content performance

Analytical skills with the ability to assess and critique work

A creative person who can bring new ideas with a fresh perspective on content and an understanding of commercial awareness prioritising the needs of the client

Has an eye for presenting visual material to engage target customers and clients

Working in a digital marketing or content focused role

The role of Content Specialist is primarily an office-based role, with the possibility of hybrid working

Holiday Allowance



25 days plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days plus bank holidays with length of service
