At Watford Community Housing, were strengthening our property services offer with a renewed focus on excellence, assurance and resident safety. As part of this we're recruiting two contract leads to manage key areas of landlord health and safety compliance- covering contracts such as Gas, Fire Safety, Electrical and Asbestos.
This is a great opportunity to step into a strategic delivery role that blends technical know-how with operational impact.
What's the role?
Managing key compliance contracts end-end- from procurement and mobilisation to performance monitoring and quality assurance.
Working with colleagues across the business to ensure data, certification and reporting is robust and reliable.
Acting as a subject matter expert in your area(s) , keeping us aligned to legislative and regulatory requirements.
Driving best practice and innovation across compliance and safety services
What are we looking for?
Strong Contract Management experience, ideally in housing or a regulated field.
Either technical expertise in a compliance area (e.g Fire, asbestos, EICR) or a solid understanding of compliance requirements and delivery.
A proactive, solution focused approach- you know how to keep things moving and take ownership
The ability to build positive relationships with contractors, consultants and colleagues alike.
Essential:
HND / HNC in Construction or Property Management or relevant experience.
Demonstrated technical competence/qualification in either Fire, Gas, Electrical or Asbestos.
Clean current Driving License and access to vehicle and business insurance
Satisfactory Basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
An understanding and experience of modern procurement and contract management processes and procedures.
Managing projects to time and to budget in a customer focused manner.
Cost management and driving value for money.
Writing contract specifications.
Use of SORs / NHF
Development of risk registers.
Able to prepare specifications and contracts of H & S legislation.
Knowledge of gas, asbestos and electrical regulations and technical standards.
Solid understanding of legal and regulatory compliance
NHF SORs for the practical application of writing detailed specifications.
Knowledge of building technology and pathology.
Excellent written skills including the ability to write reports in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers and internal clients, With excellent customer service focus.
ICT literate in particular Word and Excel and use of mobile technologies.
Desirable:
BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying of mechanical/electrical discipline.
Detailed knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and relevant Health & Safety legislation.
Member of a relevant professional body such as IFE, IOSH or Chartered Institute of Building
