Contracts Manager
to join our dynamic team.
The Role
You will manage the full lifecycle of multiple painting and decorating contracts, ensuring that each project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. You'll work across various sites, coordinating teams, subcontractors, and suppliers while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate all stages of contracts, from pre-start meetings to final handovers
Lead and oversee daily operations of operatives and subcontract labour
Plan and monitor project timelines, budgets, and labour/resource requirements
Order and coordinate timely delivery of materials
Ensure project progress aligns with quality and programme expectations
Liaise with clients, site teams, and suppliers to ensure strong communication
Track and document Variations and Dayworks accurately
Ensure compliance with all health & safety policies and site protocols
Produce and submit project documentation and reports as needed
Assist in estimating and tendering activities
Requirements
Minimum 5 years' experience in contract management (preferably within painting/decorating)
Recognised construction qualification
SMSTS, CSCS card - essential
IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent (or willingness to obtain)
Additional training/certifications (IPAF, PASMA, First Aid, Working at Height) - advantageous
Excellent knowledge of painting processes, materials, and industry standards
Understanding of building contracts, employment law, and commercial procedures
Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
IT proficiency (Microsoft Office, SnagR, Dalux, etc.)
Full UK driving licence
Able to pass a DBS check - integrity and trust are key
