:

Working in a demanding busy and ever-changing environment in 24/7 Incident Command and Control Centre at Heathrow Airport, overseeing the daily Security operation of the British Airways Engineering Base with a team of CCTV operatives.

Ensuring compliance to CAA regulations of airport security, the safety of all customers, staff and visitors attending site for training, events or regular shift work at the British Airways Engineering Base.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • To lead and Monitor CCTV control room, logging incidents in accordance with the company policy and procedures.
  • To ensure all logs, reports and records are produced accurately and promptly, covering all activities involving CCTV both externally and internally within the Control Room.
  • To liaise with law enforcement and other authorised agencies for the viewing of images recorded on the CCTV system as agreed with Management.
  • To undertake instructions from the G4S Security Manager and Operations Duty Managers on shift.
  • Ensure regular CCTV patrols are being carried out by the CCTV operatives to prevent and detect signs of intrusion onto the premises.
  • Answer alarms and investigate incidents with use of CCTV, dealing with these in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor and authorise entrance and departure of employees, visitors, deliveries and any other access controlled areas.
  • Ensure aircraft protection is being carried out by security agents on patrols, maintaining accurate records of any discrepancies, Update Security Log with activities and irregularities during the shift, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorised persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Calling police or fire departments in cases of emergency such as fire/false alarms or presence of unauthorised persons. Escalating to the Operation Duty Manager on detection.
  • Inspect and adjust security systems and equipment (within authorised limits) to ensure operational use to detect security breaches or incidents.
  • Monitor fire and security alarms, make decisions on camera activated alarms and carry out the required action to resolve the issue \xc2\xb7
  • Responsible for the security of the Control Room and its contents, including the security of data and its transfer to authorised personnel and agencies.
  • Responsible for always keeping the Control Room clean and tidy, ensuring Operators have their allocated break times on and off the screens.
  • Ensure that reasonable care is always taken for health, safety, hygiene, and welfare of yourself and other persons within the control room, by complying with company policies and procedures.
  • Adhering and maintaining strict uniform standards as per company Policies.
  • Understanding and application of GDPR Regulations in line with The Data Protection Act 2018 \xc2\xb7
  • To know and understand the function of his/her role and area of responsibility.
  • To understand what excellent customer service is and exhibit this at all times.
  • To know and understand how to de-escalate issues quickly and efficiently; and know when to escalate to Operational Duty Manager as appropriate.
  • To know and understand how to complete Security incident reports and the importance of gathering and preserving evidence for all incidents.
  • Standard keyboard skills and ability to communicate through various IT systems is desired. Be fluent in spoken and written English.

Training Requirements

CCTV Licence is mandatory, AVSEC GSS Level 2 qualified (training will be provided for the right candidates) if not already held. Further On job training will be required once employed-

  • ACT Awareness
  • ACT Security
  • Any other training required by the Management team. New Operatives will be expected to work two weeks OJT to familiarise themselves with the Area and systems before starting in the control room.
Requirements
  • CCTV licence
  • Worked as a CCTV operator in a busy environment.
  • Leadership - role requires to manage 10 CCTV operators split in various shifts.
  • Able to obtain CTC Clearance
  • Fully verifiable work and address history
