Purpose of role:
To provide detailed and accurate designs for control systems and installations to both new and existing client projects. To also provide software solutions for both new and existing client projects. The role will encompass electrical control panel design, PLC programming, testing, verification of designs and technical solution planning within the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning industry.
The ideal candidate will have an enthusiasm to learn and grow with the company whilst maintaining the company values. They will posses a keen eye for detail and have the initiative to seek solutions where required but also still have the confidence to approach senior staff when required for support and guidance. An eagerness for learning will play a pivotal part in the role as training will be provided on both in house systems and OEM systems.
The role will suit a university graduate looking to take a step into a rapidly growing industry and company.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Control panel design based upon customer specification using Bentley Promis-e software following in house training.
Design of electrical wiring diagrams to company and IEC standards based on training provided.
To organize time and priorities activities in line with the departmental requirements and requests from department management team
Preparation and issue of supporting documentation; O&M, description of operations, Bill of materials, etc.
Verification of others design work on a peer to peer checking basis.
To request quotation from third party suppliers where required
To attend design review meetings where required both with internal departments of VES and external clients.
To design and implement software for control panels designed following training provided on current platforms in use within the company.
To design and implement software to support varying user interfaces such as Trend, Modbus, BACnet IP, BACnet MSTP etc, following training and support from senior members of staff.
Provide technical guidance to clients during the design process of the control panel.
Attend site when require to support customer service team where previous attendance has deemed it necessary to have on site attendance from a controls design engineer with software programming knowledge.
Identify areas of technical weakness within the department and company and highlight these along with suggested improvements.
Provide training assistance to junior members of staff or other internal clients where deemed appropriate.
Support ongoing improvement within the company through varying means of communication such as email, phone, face to face meetings and varying internal applications.
To report on design time taken vs time estimate to allow effective department planning.
To assist the department manager in the on-time completion of designs and software to ensure manufacturing can proceed without delay.
To assist where required with any other duties deemed appropriate by your department manager.

Hours of Work: 8:00AM to 4:30PM (37.5 hours per week)
