We are looking for a self-motivated Controls Engineer to join our highly skilled team in developing and implementing control system solutions across a variety of projects in line with national and international standards.

Summary of the role:
Efficient and effective delivery of all aspects of electrical and control systems work from electrical design, through integration, software development, commissioning, testing and training to support colleagues and customers locally and remotely
Duties and responsibilities:
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define control system requirements and specifications
Take ownership of project life cycles and ensure agreed deliverables
Working within budgets and commercial constraints
Develop and review technical documentation including technical specifications, electrical schematics and BOM's
Safety circuitry design, documentation and validation
CE marking of equipment
Comply and follow company internal and external controls engineering standards
Support and supervise control panel build & integration
Liaising & managing relevant suppliers
Design, develop and deliver control software solutions integrated with modern safety and motion technologies that comply with company, national and international standards including PLC, HMI, Drives and Robotics
Work with a wide range of automation hardware such as robotics, laser measurement, laser welders, barcode readers, high speed counters, analogue sensor technologies.
Provision of local and remote technical support to colleagues and customers
Out of hours cover for breakdowns (rota).
Site upgrades, commissioning and worldwide support

Advanced electrical engineering skills and electrical design experience
Proficient with EPLAN & AutoCAD Electrical
Proficient with PLC, Drives, HMI, SCADA programming
Proficient with IEC 61131-3 with Studio 5000 & TIA Portal
VFD & servo drive programming and tunning (Siemens, Rockwell & Bosch)
Risk & hazard awareness and assessment
Familiar with safety of machinery ISO13849
Safety circuit validation via Sistema
Proactively anticipate events that impact deliverables
Proactively identify and help others recognize lesson learned
Proficient with MS Office and general IT office packages
Some oversee travel may be required during project integration, testing and certification activities
Required qualifications / experience
3 - 5 years' experience as an Engineer in any type of industrial fields. A degree in either Electrical Engineering, Controls or Automation Engineering would be a bonus but isn't necessary. Higher National Certificates and Diplomas will also be considered alongside industry experience.

Experience in PLC programming from blank project page
Experience in standard and advance motion control with servo axes for linear, circular and velocity control
Experience with safety logic programming and safety acceptance testing
