Controls System Maintenance Engineer



Location:

Leamington Spa

Hours:

39 hours per week on rotating shifts

Week 1 - Monday - Thursday 6.00am-2.00pm, Friday 6.00am-1.00pm



Week 2 - Monday - Thursday 2.00pm - 10.00pm, Friday 1.00pm-8.00pm



Salary:

Competitive + shift allowance + bonus

The role



As a Controls System Maintenance Engineer, you'll take ownership of both planned and reactive maintenance across our production site, with a strong focus on PLCs, robotics and electrical control systems. From troubleshooting faults to supporting new installations, you'll help maximise uptime, minimise disruption, and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:





Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on plant manufacturing equipment Program, test and debug PLC control systems Troubleshoot and resolve issues on electrical, mechanical and robotic systems Maintain and improve plant equipment, including compressors, boilers, fire systems, lighting and building infrastructure Ensure maintenance areas and kept clean, safe and organised Support the installation and commissioning new equipment Champion health & safety best practices

What we're looking for:



Essential:





Time-served apprentice or equivalent in mechanical/electrical engineering Proven experience in both electrical and mechanical maintenance (ideally within manufacturing) Strong knowledge of PLC programming and robotic systems Excellent fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills Ability to read and interpret technical drawings Excellent communication skills Calm, organised and resilient under pressure
