Overview:
The London Borough of Harrow is looking for a passionate and organised Conversation Cafe Engagement Coordinator to join the Adults and Public Health directorate. This new role supports vulnerable residents, including disabled people, unpaid carers, older adults, and those with long-term health conditions. You will work alongside the Conversation Cafe Lead to set up and support multiple weekly events across East Harrow, providing guidance and signposting to vital services. The role involves strong partnership working with internal teams, health services, charities, businesses, and community organisations to promote wellbeing, inclusion, and access to support for all residents.
This is a part time, fixed-term contract for a 12 month period. We have 3 vacancies at 2x27 hours and 1x21 hours. The working hours include evenings and weekends.

The candidate will have:
The ability to enagage at ease with residents who may have disabilities, unpaid carers, pensioners and those with long term health conditions.
Ability to demonstrate personal resilience and autonomy when working in challenging situations and dealing with contentious issues and finding workable solutions.
Detailed working knowledge of guidance/procedures/policies relative to the service area.
Understanding of the Care Act (2014).
Experience in setting up and delivering community facing events.
Ability to deliver live presentations.
Experience / knowledge of the community support available to people who use social care services and unpaid Carers.
Extensive experience of Health & Wellbeing.
Ability to network with partner organisations, charities and in-house departments.
Experience of benefit entitlement including application and appeal processes.
Willingness to wear the provided uniform.
Experience in research and managing communications internally and externally.
ICT literate.
Ability to communicate in the English language.
Experience of managing challenging situations.
Experience in managing risk.
First Aid, Food Safety L1, Health & Safety, L2, and Conflict Management training.
Valid UK Drivers Licence with access to a vehicle.
Willingness to train to drive a minibus.
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather.
This role is subject to Enhanced DBS (Childrens & Adults).
