The Conveyancing Solicitor will manage a full caseload of residential and/or commercial property matters from instruction to completion. The role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent client care, and the ability to work independently within a busy and well-established Conveyancing Department at our Stratford office.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesFile Management
Manage a caseload of conveyancing matters including:
Freehold and Leasehold Sales & Purchases
Re-mortgages
Transfer of Equity
Shared Ownership
New Build Transactions
Commercial property transactions (if applicable)
Handle matters from initial instruction to post-completion in line with firm policies and regulatory standards.
Review and negotiate contracts, leases, and relevant title documentation.
Client Care
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, estate agents, mortgage brokers, and other stakeholders.
Provide clear, concise, and practical legal advice throughout the transaction.
Keep clients updated regarding progress and key milestone dates.
Compliance & Administration
Ensure strict compliance with SRA regulations, AML checks, CQS requirements, GDPR, and firm procedures.
Maintain accurate time recording and billing records.
Ensure all documentation and client files are maintained on the case management system (LEAP).
Liaison & Communication
Liaise with HM Land Registry, HMRC, lenders, management companies, and other solicitors.
Prepare and submit SDLT returns and registration applications.
Assist with resolving title issues and complex property matters.
Teamwork
Support junior staff and assistants where required.
Participate in departmental meetings and firm initiatives.
Contribute to business development and client retention.
3. Skills & ExperienceEssential
Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with
1-3 years PQE
(or strong conveyancing experience).
Solid understanding of residential conveyancing processes and legislation.
Ability to manage a full and busy caseload independently.
Strong drafting, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
Desirable
Commercial conveyancing experience.
Experience using
LEAP
case management system.
Knowledge of lender requirements and CQS compliance.
