Conveyancing Technician

Andover, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Bring your conveyancing expertise into a role with purpose

Are you an experienced conveyancer looking to apply your skills in a values-led environment, one that offers professional challenge with real social impact?

Join our Strategic Asset Management team as a Conveyancing Technician, applying your proven end-to-end conveyancing expertise in property disposals and acquisitions to help deliver Aster's strategic objectives and support our wider social purpose.

This is a great opportunity for someone with private practice or housing sector experience who is ready to step into a leading technical role, one with variety, impact and the chance to apply their conveyancing expertise in a collaborative, outcomes-focused environment.

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to shape and progress transactions, review legal advice, support key decisions and oversee solicitor instructions. It is a role that combines legal insight with good commercial judgement, stakeholder engagement and strategic impact.

As our Conveyancing Technician, you will play a key part in the internal process for disposing of and acquiring land and property assets. You will manage your own caseload of complex and sensitive transactions, while also playing a key role in driving progress at critical stages across the wider teams matters, maintaining an efficient service in line with legal, regulatory and governance frameworks.

You will support the Conveyancing Manager in resolving legal or procedural queries and act as a key contact for internal stakeholders and external legal advisors, especially where title interpretation or legal risk is involved.

Just as importantly, you will support and uplift others in the team, sharing your knowledge in an accessible way and helping colleagues develop their skills and confidence. You will be a go-to person for technical queries, contributing to a team culture that is capable, consistent and supportive.

You will also build strong relationships across Strategic Asset Management and the wider business, ensuring our transactions reflect Aster's values, priorities and long-term goals.

You are a confident and capable conveyancer with experience in land law and property conveyancing transactions. You bring at least two years' hands-on experience managing a caseload of disposals and acquisitions and you know how to keep things moving, without compromising on detail, quality or compliance.

You will have experience reviewing title, assessing legal risk and interpreting complex documentation and you will be comfortable advising others and making clear, practical recommendations. You are likely to have a recognised legal qualification (such as CILEx, a law degree, or equivalent), but just as important is your ability to apply legal knowledge with good judgement, in a way that supports our wider strategic objectives.

You have worked in, or with, a conveyancing or property legal team before and you know how to provide operational support, technical input and guidance to others. You are someone who explains things clearly, shares your knowledge generously and adapts your communication style to suit your audience.

Experience in the housing, charity, or wider regulated sectors would be an advantage, but it is not essential. What matters most is that you bring a strong technical foundation, a proactive mindset and a willingness to collaborate.

You are organised, pragmatic and solution focused. You work well under pressure, manage deadlines with confidence and naturally look for ways to improve processes and support the wider team.

This is a hybrid role, so you can base yourself from home if you wish. The role will involve some travel as required across our operating regions to support the team, so you will need a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes. Our operating regions include Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Somerset, Devon, Cornwall and London.
