Your Key Responsibilities:
To prepare meals for residents who require a specialised diet such as texture modified, allergies and fortified diet in accordance with instructions from the nursing staff
Full responsibility and control of the four weekly menu planning and the picture menus that are updated in the display board daily.
To control and monitor the progress of assistants and trainees and inform the Home Manager of any identified training needs
To maintain the standard of health and hygiene in line with the food standards agency.
To ensure a high level of service for all mealtimes
To complete all documentation relating to
H.A.C.C.P
-ensure food safety records are up to date.
To report any defects to equipment to the Home Manager
To ensure good quality and portion control
Maintain a high standard of personal presentation
To carry out all general duties and responsibilities in the absence of the other Cook
To carry out any reasonable duties requested by senior staff that will aid and assist the smooth running of the home
To actively display and promote the Company's Values
To remain fully compliant on all mandatory training
To be sensitive to the privacy and individual needs of the residents
To promote Equality and Diversity in the workplace
To carry out regular stock checks upon each food delivery
Responsibility for all the accurately and timely ordering of supplies for the kitchen
Management of the monthly budget set in place by the Home Manager
Keep the kitchen spotless -- ensure complete washing up, empty bins, and mopped floors at the end of your shift.
What We're Looking For:
Experience working in a kitchen environment
-- essential.
Understanding of food hygiene and health & safety
-- ensure compliance.
GCSE's (or equivalent) Maths & English
BTEC in food safety or NVQ Level 2/3 -
required
Positive, team-player attitude
-- a friendly, can-do mindset.
Attention to detail
-- especially when catering to specific dietary needs.
