Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Care home Cook. This role is essential in ensuring the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a commitment to maintaining food safety standards and delivering exceptional dining experiences. The role will be working four days on and fours day off.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards. Assist in meal preparation, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and properly stored. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations. Collaborate with alternating kitchen staff to ensure efficient service. Monitor food quality and presentation, making adjustments as necessary to meet customer expectations. Participate in menu planning and development, offering creative input based on culinary experience. Serve meals to guests, ensuring an excellent dining experience through attentive service.

Requirements

Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant or care home setting. Strong culinary skills with knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods. Familiarity with food safety practices, regulations is essential and a willingness to complete a food hygiene certificate. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal presentation. A team player who can communicate effectively with colleagues in a busy kitchen atmosphere. Good record keeping skills.
