We're looking for a Temporary Cook to join the team at Hawthorn Court Care Home a warm, welcoming 22-bed residential home near Swansea. If you're passionate about home-style cooking and want to make a genuine difference in people's lives, this could be the role for you.

In this part-time, flexible role, you'll prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals for residents while ensuring dietary needs, food safety, and individual preferences are always respected.

What You'll Do

Prepare fresh, home-cooked meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences Cook for residents with special diets, allergies, or texture-modified meals Plan, adapt, and deliver menus that are both enjoyable and within budget Ensure food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety standards are met at all times Maintain accurate records for food temperatures, allergens, and stock control Communicate with care staff regarding residents' dietary changes or concerns Foster a calm, positive kitchen environment where quality and consistency come first

What We're Looking For

Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (Essential) Level 3 Food Hygiene and HACCP knowledge (Preferred) Previous experience working in a care home, school, or similar setting Ability to plan and cook balanced meals for 20+ people Comfortable adapting meals for special diets and allergies Reliable, organised, and able to work independently Friendly and respectful, mindful of working in a care setting
