We are seeking a passionate and skilled Cook to join our care home team at Acorns Nursing Home. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and delivering excellent service to our residents. Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to menu specifications and quality standards Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection to ensure freshness and quality Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory, placing orders as necessary Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional customer service Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food preparation and service. Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations at all times.

Requirements

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or catering environment Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety standards Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends if required Previous experience in a care home environment but not essential Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are desirable but not mandatory

Pay: From 12.60 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 30 per week
