We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring adherence to food safety standards. This position is perfect for individuals who are passionate about food and eager to learn in a fast-paced cafe environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of meals and ingredients, ensuring all food is prepared according to recipes and standards. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment by washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately. Support chefs and cooks with various tasks as needed, including chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, and assembling dishes. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key. Basic knowledge of food safety principles and practices. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
