Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in meal preparation, maintain food safety standards, and support the kitchen staff in delivering high-quality dishes. This role is essential for ensuring a smooth operation within the kitchen environment and providing exceptional service to our patrons.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of meals and ingredients under the guidance of the head cook or chef. Ensure all food safety protocols are followed, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen at all times. Help with the organisation of kitchen supplies and equipment to ensure efficiency during food preparation. Support cooking staff by performing basic cooking tasks as needed, including chopping, mixing, and plating dishes. Clean kitchen utensils, equipment, and work surfaces after use to maintain a tidy environment. Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen manager. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods.

Skills

Proficiency in meal preparation techniques and an understanding of culinary practices. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a kitchen setting. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills to collaborate with kitchen staff and contribute positively to team dynamics. A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills within the culinary field. Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential.

Pay: 10.00-12.50 per hour
