Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Cook/Kitchen Hand at The White Horse Inn. This role is ideal for someone with a love for cooking and creating fun and exciting dishes, who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment, and works well in a team. You will be responsible for assisting our head chef in ensuring high standards of food safety and quality, while contributing to meal preparation and service. Experience is desired but not necessary as full training will be provided.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and standards. Assist in the planning and execution of meal preparation, ensuring timely service during peak hours. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment. Collaborate with the kitchen and front of house team to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service. Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.

Experience

Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or culinary setting is desired but not necessary. Familiarity with kitchen equipment and techniques, along with a solid understanding of food safety practices. A background in hospitality settings would be beneficial. Strong organisational skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy environment. A passion for food and commitment to delivering high-quality dishes that delight customers. Working days are Tuesday-Sunday (occasional Monday work on Holidays), with varying days off each week. Only candidates who can work daytimes, evenings and weekends will be considered.

Pay: From 12.21 per hour
