We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our nursery kitchen team. This role is essential in ensuring high standards of food preparation and service within our nursery. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in kitchen operations, demonstrating both culinary skills and a commitment to food safety practices. This role will involve holiday and sickness cover.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and standards
Ensure that all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations
Assist in the planning and preparation of menu items, contributing creative ideas for meal preparation
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely service
Monitor stock levels, and order the required stock
Maintain the required cleaning in line with current hygiene standards
Skills
Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably within a catering environment
Strong culinary skills with a good understanding of various cooking techniques
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in meal preparation
Previous kitchen experience is highly desirable, along with familiarity with culinary terminology
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues
