Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our culinary team as a cook/ kitchen assistant. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in food preparation and cooking, who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Duties
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus. Assist in meal preparation, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and properly stored. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods. Contribute to menu planning by suggesting new dishes or improvements to existing ones. Ensure that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained regularly. Serve meals in an appealing manner, paying attention to presentation and portion control.
Qualifications
Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen setting. Strong culinary skills with a keen understanding of food safety regulations. Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, along with knowledge of meal preparation techniques. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being capable of working independently when required. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, ensuring consistency in food quality. A passion for cooking and an eagerness to learn new techniques and recipes.
