Job Summary


The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the Cook Room, Pastry Room, and De-box Area, ensuring smooth and efficient production across all shifts. Reporting directly to the Shift Manager, this role involves managing a team of approximately 10 people, coordinating resources, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Key responsibilities include approving holidays, preparing materials, monitoring production flow, and liaising with engineers to resolve any technical issues. The Area Manager plays a vital role in supporting team performance and ensuring operational continuity.

Duties



Shift Preparation & Oversight Ensure smooth start of each shift by checking staffing levels, materials availability, and line readiness. Review and prepare materials for the back shift to avoid delays or shortages. Monitor line speeds and adjust resources to maintain optimal productivity. Team Management Supervise and support a team of approximately 10 employees. Approve and manage team members' holiday requests in line with operational needs. Provide guidance, training, and feedback to ensure high performance and engagement. Material & Quality Control Regularly check Unity system for material shortages and out-of-date stock. Ensure all materials used are within specification and available for production. Escalate any issues promptly to relevant departments. Communication & Coordination Liaise with engineers to report and resolve any breakdowns or technical issues. Communicate effectively with the Shift Manager and other departments to ensure alignment and support. Health & Safety & Compliance Ensure all team members follow health and safety procedures. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Support audits and compliance checks as required.

Skills & Experience Required



Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role within food production or manufacturing. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities. Familiarity with production systems (e.g., Unity) and basic IT skills.
A proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving and team management.

: 03.45 - 13:00

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 13.49 per hour

Expected hours: 43.75 per week
