Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity is looking for a part-time Copywriter to join its Content team.

The salary for this part-time position is 33,788 (pro-rata). This is a fixed term contract for 7 months (September 2025 to March 2026).

This part-time role is three days a week. We have a hybrid working policy and would need the successful candidate to work from our office in London one day a week.

A key member of the Content team, you'll be vital in helping to uphold our brand's tone of voice and editorial vision.
Key Responsibilities


No two days are the same, so you'll need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and thrive when juggling competing priorities and deadlines. You'll have a genuine passion for storytelling and meticulous attention to detail (bonus points if you love a good style guide). A creative at heart, you'll enjoy collaborating with colleagues and working together to get the very best result.

In this role, you will



Work closely with the Senior Copywriter to provide copywriting, messaging and subediting support for colleagues across the charity, working on everything from events and fundraising products to brand campaigns, website content and supporter communications. Manage the production of our annual donor magazine, including conducting interviews, writing articles, editing and assisting with art direction. Act as a champion for our tone of voice, helping to embed best practice copywriting and ensuring consistency, accuracy and cohesion across all campaigns and channels. Build positive relationships with colleagues across the charity, helping to upskill and empower staff to feel confident using our tone of voice. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


Excellent grasp of the English language, including exceptional spelling, grammar and punctuation and the ability to proofread your own and others' work. Experience writing compelling and persuasive messaging and copy for a range of audiences and channels. Experience in revising or redeveloping copy in line with a brand's tone of voice. Experience working in-house at a charity/not-for-profit organisation and/or a familiarity with fundraising campaigns and copy. Experience working on a print publication and as part of an editorial team. Excellent communication skills, able to explain creative ideas and nurture strong relationships with colleagues across all levels. Excellent organisation, project management and prioritisation skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

About the team



This role sits in the GOSH Charity Content team, made up of copy, film and content marketing experts who tell the stories of patients, families and staff at Great Ormond Street Hospital, showcase the impact of the charity and help build our supporter base. The Content team is positioned in the wider Brand team (made up of Content, Creative and Brand Marketing) within the Marketing and Communications team.
