Our Corporate team is looking to hire a junior associate. You'll support the partners and legal directors across the team on a wide variety of private M&A, investment and joint venture work, including a high proportion of cross-border deals.
Our client base is fascinating. You can expect to work with many of the biggest names in media, entertainment and technology as well as entrepreneurial, high growth businesses and the creative talent and investors behind them.
The quality of our work easily rivals that of much larger firms, but as a smaller team of 5 partners and with a typical deal size in the lower to mid-cap range, you'll enjoy a significant level of partner contact and exposure to a varied workload and opportunities to take early responsibility.
Inevitably, a career as a corporate lawyer can be demanding, and there will be occasional travel required for this role, but we believe our supportive and approachable culture fosters a strong team spirit and sense of enthusiasm and satisfaction for the work we do, making this a great place to build your career as a corporate lawyer.
About you
You will be a qualified, or soon to be qualified, solicitor who has gained a minimum of 6 months' high-quality experience in a strong corporate team (during your training contract or post-qualification).
We'd prefer someone to start in the new year, so it is unlikely that a March 2026 qualifier will be considered. Our junior level associates tend to have less than 2.5 years' post qualification experience, reflecting the level of responsibility and complexity of the work they undertake.
Your corporate experience does not need to have been gained in any particular sector.
We also look for a strong academic record, initiative, pragmatic problem-solving and excellent communication skills. Above all, you will bring enthusiasm for corporate law and the determination to deliver the exceptional level of client service we are particularly known for.
Our Culture
Our culture is unique among law firms - both in what we expect from our people and the way we create value in the industries we serve. We empower our people, expect commitment and excellence, and celebrate when we achieve it.
Our values are at the heart of everything that we do and define Wiggin as a workplace: being visionary, authentic, unified, responsible and excellent across-the-board.
There isn't a typical Wiggin person. We aim to build teams that are diverse in thought, perspective and experience to provide a more rounded service to our internal and external clients.
We operate a discretionary hybrid working model allowing 2 days per week working from home. We offer an attractive remuneration package including 25 days holiday (plus birthdays off), private medical insurance, permanent health insurance and more from your first day of employment.
