We are seeking an experienced and professional Corporate Security Officer to become a valuable member of our team. The ideal candidate will have a friendly and easy-going personality while also being very perceptive and disciplined. A customer-oriented approach is essential.
This is a full-time contract on a rolling nights only shift pattern: Wednesday to Sunday followed by Thursday to Sunday (5 on, 3 off; 4 on, 2 off). Average 52 hours per week.
We offer a pay rate of 13.94 with a holiday entitlements of 25.2 days inclusive of bank holidays.
Important note: SIA Door Supervisor and CCTV is mandatory. Your application will be automatically rejected if you do not hold a valid DS and CCTV licence.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver and maintain high standards of professionalism
Anticipate clients' requirements and ensure their expectations are met and exceeded each day
Cover the Security Controller position on interim basis for holiday and other absences.
Maintain a high security awareness at all times and adopt a proactive approach to situations as they develop
Be seen as a visible customer focused professional by being proactive and greet clients and visitors where possible
Monitor and respond to all security and building management systems in the Security Control Room
Support the Security Supervisor on the day-to-day operations.
Proactively monitor and respond to suspicious activities or persons using CCTV surveillance systems.
Management of the fault log and following up Help Desk or callout requests
Monitoring information received from internal & external agencies e.g. news feeds, social media, intelligence and responding appropriately
Security, Surveillance and Building Management System checks
Proficient use of communications equipment such as radios for efficient and effective response during incidents
Ensure all Health & Safety policies are adhered
Loading Bay management
Maintaining an accurate record of any incidents that occur.
Complete comprehensive incident reports to a high standard and ensure these are submitted in reasonable time
Oversee and manage any emergency evacuations in your respective area of responsibility and be prepared to make difficult decisions in fast developing emergency situations
Undertake patrols and inspections in accordance with Assignment Instructions
Provide a detailed handover at the end of each shift
Person Specification
Valid SIA Door Supervisor and SIA CCTV licence
Professional, highly driven, flexible, enthusiastic, proactive, self-motivated team player
Reliable and always alert when working night shifts
Physically sound to carry out patrols, routine checks, respond to alarms especially when lifts are not available, stand for prolonged periods and climb several flight of stairs
Previous experience working in a similar role
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels
Ability to work independently with confidence, using own initiative as required, especially in highly dynamic emergency situations
Keen and willing to look for opportunities to enhance client/visitor experience
Clear, concise and confident communication skills which are customer service orientated with a very keen eye for detail
Confidence and common sense to access and utilise resources when making decisions
Maintain and practice a high degree of confidentiality at all times
Computer literate, able to write professional emails and proficient in use of security systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Have an acute sense of security awareness
Verifiable 5 years of continuous work employment and/or academic history without gaps
Good understanding of one-team ethos and importance of supporting the wider team.
