The team
Our Corporate team provide the highest level of strategic advice to a large portfolio of commercial organisations. The team has grown in size over recent years and continues to go from strength to strength, previously winning Corporate (and Commercial) Team of the Year at the Manchester Legal Awards and being nominated again this year. It has recently retained its status as Tier 1 Legal 500 practice and has been commended for offering first class, commercial legal advice.
Typical matters include:
Mergers, acquisitions and disposals
Due diligence and disclosure
Investment agreements
Shareholder agreements (and bespoke articles of association)
Share restructuring/group re-organisation
Share options (including EMIs)
Company formation and administration
Non-contentious insolvency work
Banking (loans, security and deeds of priority)
Who we are looking for
The position would suit those with excellent academic background and training who are looking to further develop their career. Candidates are required to have good communication skills, strong organisational skills and an eye for detail.
The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor (NQ-5PQE) and have strong corporate experience post qualification or during a training contract. It is important that the successful candidate is well versed in working on a full range of corporate and company issues. Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience dealing with an SME/OMB client base and have trained with a national or leading regional firm.
Candidates will need to demonstrate high levels of technical skill and the ability to maintain strong client relationships. Candidates are also required to demonstrate how they can promote the corporate services and other legal services offered by the firm to existing and new target clients and obtain referrals from contacts and referrers.
