Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Cost Controller/Accounts Payable to join our finance team supporting our group of hotels. The position requires both strong analytical skills and the ability to travel between sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage the accounts payable process, ensuring invoices are correctly processed, verified, and coded in line with company policies. Ensure timely and accurate vendor payments while maintaining comprehensive AP records. Reconcile invoices and payments. Monitor costs across multiple hotel sites, ensuring expenses are properly allocated and recorded against budgets. Analyse expenditure trends, highlight variances, and work with department heads to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency. Assist with the preparation of cost reports, budgets, and forecasts, providing financial insight to support decision-making. Collaborate with operational and departmental teams to investigate discrepancies, resolve queries, and enforce cost control measures. Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals and reporting on accounts payable and cost variances. Maintain structured financial records and documentation for both accounts payable and cost control purposes.

Requirements

Proven experience in a cost controller, accounts payable, or finance analyst role, preferably within hospitality or multi-site operations. Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide insights. High attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing and reporting. Excellent organisational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence to liaise with both finance colleagues and operational managers. Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team. Full UK driving licence and access to a car (essential, due to travel requirements across multiple properties).
