The following opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and suitably qualified person interested in helping to provide outstanding value for money services to the Council and its partners.

The role will work as part of a large estimating team who have responsibility for providing Property with estimates, tenders and procurement.

This will include budget formulation, post contract financial management and final account settlement on behalf of the Head of Property Maintenance. Working closely with other teams of professionals, identifying innovative ways of delivering value for money will be a key objective.

The post holder will require good knowledge of building related electrical services along with knowledge of electrical related Statutory Compliance legislation and requirements etc.

Ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite E.g., Excel, Word etc will be required to produce financial information as and when required by the Estimating Manager.

The post holder will deal & communicate with other DCC staff along with outside agencies and the public during their duties.

As the team are based County wide periodically the Cost Planner will be required to attend meetings, undertake surveys throughout Derbyshire so the post holder will require a full driving licence provision.

  • Be enthusiastic, versatile, and self-motivated with the ability to work well as part of a team
  • Confidence to work under pressure and manage several tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with attention to detail
  • You will have excellent IT skills.
