About the role
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Counselling Tutor to teach Level 3 and Level 4 counselling courses with potential, ideally, to teach up to Level 6. You will work closely within a small Counselling team and will take a key role in delivery and development of the provision.
Specifically you will:
Plan, prepare and deliver high quality, engaging, knowledge and skills based content including preparation of suitable teaching materials and learning resources.
Carry out assessments of learning in varied ways, taking into account Awarding Organisation requirements and in line with college platforms and processes
Monitor and track student progress and performance, putting in place any interventions necessary to ensure learner success
Review, develop and promote the counselling provision and curriculum, taking into account national trends and developments within the sector.
Contribute to the marketing and promotion of the counselling provision to enhance its profile
Respond to learner needs and welfare with guidance and support, keeping in line with the College Safeguarding policies.
Liaise with any external stakeholders (in particular placement settings) as necessary
Complete any necessary administrative tasks associated with the post
Work closely with other members of the counselling team and liaising with the Counselling Co-ordinator to ensure a cohesive approach to delivery of the provision.
About the person
The successful candidate will hold a relevant qualification ideally in Counselling or a related field alongside a teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one. An awareness of the curriculum sector is desirable but continued relevant professional development is expected within the subject area. You must be flexible and have excellent communication and orgainsation skills.
