Sales Counter Advisor - Builders Merchant

As part of the company's growth and development, a full-time vacancy has arisen for a Counter Sales Advisor at our Scunthorpe Depot. This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral member of a successful business that provides an excellent all-round service throughout the East Riding, Lincolnshire and North Yorkshire.

West Building Supplies Ltd is a local Independent Builders' Merchant who has been serving the people of Bridlington and East Yorkshire for over 50 years. Based across six branches in Bridlington, Scarborough, Hull, Beverley and Scunthorpe. We provide knowledgeable product advice, comprehensive and high quality stock and we pride ourselves on great customer service.

As a Counter Sales Advisor, you will play a key role in the sale of our full range of building supplies and showroom products.

The Ideal Candidate will

Have the ability to work on your own initiative but also willing to work as part of a wider team.

A good communicator who is presentable, approachable, positive and polite

Motivated, energetic and passionate about your work

Have knowledge of the building industry and building supplies

Excellent customer service skills

Sales driven

Duties to include

Exceeding our customers' expectations by dealing with them professionally and courteously, either by telephone or face to face on the sales counter.

Giving excellent customer service and sound product advice.

Maintaining and developing sales leads.

Taking a proactive approach to sales using all opportunities to maximise sales and margins.

Following up on sales enquiries and quotations.

Maintaining and developing existing and new customer relationships.

Achieving and exceeding your sales targets.

Completing all necessary paperwork in line with company procedures.
