Role Overview

We are looking for two Counterbalance Forklift Drivers to support our operations by efficiently handling, transporting, and loading timber products. The successful candidate(s) will play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials within our site, adhering to safety standards, and contributing to our overall productivity.

Key Responsibilities

Operate a counterbalance forklift to transport timber and other materials safely and efficiently within the sawmill premises. Load and unload deliveries, ensuring accuracy and care to prevent damage. Organise and maintain stock in designated areas for easy access and inventory control. Conduct daily checks of the forklift to ensure it is in good working condition. Follow all health and safety guidelines, reporting any concerns to the management team. Assist in general yard duties when required to support the team.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

Experience in operating a counterbalance forklift in a similar environment. An in-date forklift certificate from a recognised body (e.g., RTITB, ITSSAR, or equivalent).

Desirable:

Previous experience working in a timber or sawmill environment.

Training and Development

While relevant experience is essential, training can be provided for candidates with transferable skills or experience in similar roles.

Key Skills and Attributes

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials. Excellent awareness of workplace health and safety standards. Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
