Job Description
SMS are recruiting an experienced Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join one of our high-profile automotive manufacturing clients. This role involves supporting production and warehouse operations by safely transporting materials, components, and finished parts across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Operating Counterbalance FLT to move materials safely around production and storage areas Supplying components to assembly and manufacturing lines Loading and unloading vehicles, containers, and stillages Transporting finished products to despatch areas Stock movement, allocation and scanning where required Maintaining high standards of safety, housekeeping, and equipment checks Working to set production schedules and supporting wider warehouse tasks when required
Requirements
Valid Counterbalance FLT licence (NPORS / ITSSAR / RTITB accepted) Previous FLT experience in manufacturing, automotive, or warehouse environments Ability to follow safe systems of work and complete daily FLT checks Good teamwork, communication, and reliability
Working Hours
Dayshift - 7am - 3pm Monday to Friday
Backshift - 3pm - 11pm Monday to Friday
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary, Temp to perm
Pay: 12.96-15.04 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
Work Location: In person
