We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to lead our small team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen. Duties
Manage daily kitchen operations, preparing dishes to the highest standards of quality and presentation
Lead the small team, providing guidance and support to foster a collaborative team environment
Plan and prepare a variety of dishes, ensuring consistency in taste, appearance, and portion control. Meeting company KPIs for gross profit and wastage whilst simultaneously offering an ever evolving range of menu options and daily specials, suited to the season.
Manage ordering supplies and maintaining inventory levels
Ensure food safety and hygiene regulations are exceeded across all kitchen activities
Develop new menu items in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends
Train team members on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, hygiene and service standards
Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction
Skills
Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within a busy gastro pub, restaurant or similar hospitality setting
Experience in being part of a Senior Leadership Team.
Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
Strong understanding of food production processes and culinary techniques
Ability to innovate with menu development while maintaining consistency in quality
Effective communication skills to liaise with team members and management seamlessly
