Job Description

Working in conjunction with the Pro Shop, the Course Marshal is responsible for ensuring visitors and members commence their round of golf as per the bookings system, whilst also maintaining a smooth flow of play. This is on both the Millennium and Academy golf courses. The Course Marshal also has a key responsibility to ensure that the Maple Leaf Golf Customer Experience is maintained to the high level expected.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Course Marshal will carry out, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

1.) Greet all visitors and members in a friendly and courteous manner

2.) Ensure golfers are commencing their round from the correct starting tee, as per the bookings regulations, and have signed in at Pro Shop beforehand

3.) Report to the Pro Shop any discrepancies to the bookings sheet in visiting golfers

4.) Monitor flow of play to ensure maximum customer enjoyment. Monitoring flow of play must be done in reverse order to increase the amount of groups made contact with, and to make yourself visible upon arrival

5.) Carry out regular checks to determine that no golfers have commenced play at an unauthorised start point

6.) Pick up any litter on the golf course as you see it

7.) Keep a record of as much round timing information as possible and report back to duty manager

8.) Report back any problems of any nature that you come across out on the golf course

9.) Ensure first time visitors are aware of speed of play expectations, repairing pitch marks, and of any local rules

10.) Deal as effectively as possible with any member or visitor requests

11.) Carry out first tee greeting with all societies as per club guidelines

12.) Take out society's Nearest the Pin & Longest Drive markers, and arrange collection post round

13.) Assist Pro Shop on quiet times with daily clear up duties, including driving range and hire trollies

14.) Monthly report back to Pro Shop Manager on practices that can be introduced to increase efficiency of play on both golf courses

Pay: 12.50 per hour
