Role Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Golf Starter & Course Marshal to serve as the first point of contact for members, guests, and visitors. Your role will be key in ensuring a warm welcome, maintaining the pace of play, upholding course etiquette, and helping to create a positive and memorable experience for all.

Key Responsibilities

Greet players at the 1st tee and manage tee times in line with the day's play schedule Provide course condition updates and reinforce local rules and etiquette Marshal the course to maintain pace of play and player conduct Support with competitions, society days, and visitor experiences Ensure players care for the course (bunkers, pitch marks, divots, etc.) Capture golf rounds and data in Intelligent Golf (IG) software Verify that all golfers are authorised and have paid green fees Assist in lost item searches and basic first aid situations if necessary Communicate with the Greenkeeping team regarding course maintenance issues Promote a courteous, respectful atmosphere that reflects the Club's standards

Person Specification

Essential:

Friendly, approachable and professional demeanor Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Passion for golf and solid understanding of etiquette and rules Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends Comfortable working outdoors and performing light physical duties Reliable, punctual, organised, and presentable
Desirable:

Experience in a similar role or in a hospitality/golf environment or public services Familiarity with Intelligent Golf or similar systems First Aid certification (or willingness to undertake training)

Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: 10.00-12.21 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 10 per week
