Oculus Legal Group is working with a highly regarded London law firm to recruit a Newly Qualified Solicitor (0-1 PQE) into their dedicated Court of Protection (Property & Affairs) team. About the Role
You will work closely with senior solicitors in the team, gaining exposure to a wide range of deputyship and estate administration matters. Key Responsibilities
Managing a supervised caseload of Court of Protection Property & Affairs matters
Preparing and submitting deputyship applications to the Court of Protection
Assisting with statutory will applications and estate administration
Supporting senior lawyers on complex or contested deputyship cases
Drafting legal documents, reports, and correspondence to a high standard
Investigating and addressing concerns of potential financial abuse
Ensuring compliance with Court of Protection rules and maintaining accurate financial records
Providing empathetic and professional support to clients, their families, and external advisers
Candidate Profile
Recently qualified solicitor (0-1 PQE) or due to qualify within 6 months (will consider higher PQE)
Demonstrable interest in Court of Protection work (Property & Affairs) or a background in health and welfare with a desire to transition
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with sensitivity when working with vulnerable clients
A proactive and collaborative approach, with enthusiasm to learn and develop in a niche practice area
