We are looking for a
dedicated Cover Supervisor
to join our secondaryPupil Referral Unit (PRU)
, supporting pupils aged 11-16 who have experienced difficulties in mainstream education. This is a challenging yet rewarding role for someone who truly wants to make a difference.About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
Supervise classes during teacher absence, ensuring learning continues effectively Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may display
challenging behaviour
, includingswearing or physical outbursts
Provide structure, consistency, and clear boundaries to promote engagement and progress Work closely with the behaviour and pastoral teams to support pupils' emotional and social development Act as a positive role model, demonstrating patience, empathy, and professionalism at all timesAbout You
We are seeking someone who:
Has
experience working with young people with social, emotional, or behavioural needs
Isresilient, calm under pressure
, and able to de-escalate challenging situations effectively Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills Is firm, fair, and consistent, with a genuine passion for helping students succeed Can work well as part of a dedicated, multi-disciplinary teamWe offer
