Crofton Academy are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join the Academy in November 2025 to provide both classroom supervision for pupils where teachers are absent from duty as well as general academy support when classroom supervision is not required.
We require a confident person who can relate well to students and is committed to supporting teaching and learning. Previous classroom experience is not essential; however, some experience of working with young people in a supportive capacity is preferred.
The successful candidate will have:
Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
Motivation and flexibility to work across the Academy
Drive and passion for the education of young adults at secondary school age.
Effective analytical, organisation and communication skills.
The ability to work on their own initiative, but also be able to work flexibly as part of a team.
The post holder will be responsible to the Cover Manager/Deputy Headteacher. The working hours for the role are either 28.75 hours per week (Monday - Friday 08:35 - 15:05 with a 30-minute lunch break and a 15-minute morning break each day) or 36.25 hours per week (Monday - Friday 08:15 - 16:15 with a 30-minute lunch break and a 15-minute morning break each day). Individuals wish to undertake the 36.25 hours per week role will be expected to undertake morning supervision duties and lead/participate in the running of extra-curricular activities at the end of the school day.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is motivated and passionate about the education of young people. Leading lessons in the absence of a classroom teacher, and assisting within other departments will enable the candidate to get a real feel for what it is like to be a positive educator and enable candidates to gain valuable experience in working with young adults.
