Cover Supervisors Needed in Rotherham

100 - 120 per day

Are you looking to work as a teacher without the QTS?
TeacherActive are looking for a strong, flexible, and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor for our secondary schools in the Rotherham area. All of the work is set by class teachers, and you will be required to follow the lesson plans and ensure behaviour and lesson disruption is at a minimum. You will be able to work full-time or part-time with roles ranging from daily bookings to long-term assignments.
What is required of a cover supervisor?
This is a job that requires you to be confident, flexible, patient, and, above all, to enjoy working with young people. The role essentially requires a highly organised individual and a great communicator to come into a lesson when a teacher is absent, to cover lessons and manage the classroom's behaviour.
Typical cover supervisor tasks include:

• Manage the classroom and supervise pupils
• Help pupils carry out pre-arranged tasks and exercises set out by the teacher
• Respond to pupils' questions and help with their work
• Collect all completed work at the end of the class to be passed on to the teacher
• Report back to the teacher or staff about the behaviour of the class and work carried out according to the school's procedure and processes.
• Deal with any immediate issues, such as emergencies, in complete accordance with the school's procedures and policies.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will require the following:

• Excellent communication skills alongside good classroom management
• Over 6 months of experience within an educational environment
• The ability to cover a variety of subjects
• Good Communication skills
• A good knowledge of the National Curriculum
• A passion for teaching and a desire to make a difference
