The position of care manager is a front-line leadership role within a residential care setting. As a care manager, you'll be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations within the care setting, including recruiting and managing staff teams, managing resident referrals and portfolios, and ensuring that the quality of the services provided meets national care standards regulated by Care Quality Commission (CQC). Role and Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

Resident Referrals and Portfolio Management



To Increase revenue by achieving the highest possible occupancy levels, through a focussed marketing programme and relationships with external Councils and CCGS, which will include the maximising fees. Ensure all referrals are dealt with efficiently and that the majority of referrals are converted into home admissions. To ensure that each resident has a contract and that fees are paid in accordance with this contract in conjunction with the Provider. Ensure that all operational and administrative procedures are adhered to at all times. Ensure each resident has a file containing their assessments, personal portfolios and essential records required for their care.

Care Provision



Work closely with the staff team to ensure that exceptional care is delivered, and all care plans are updated using person centred care approach. Mentor the existing staff team and recruit from the local community to help reduce agency costs. A strong leader, who is able to motivate, lead and support all members of the team Ensure any regulatory activity, such as personal care and administering medicines, is delivered within regulations Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and understanding of CQC essential standards and all legislation relevant to a care home To ensure that quality audits are carried out monthly and that external audits are undertaken when requested. Ensure that care plans are person centre and meet the needs of the residents. Also ensuring that they are up to date so that all residents Care and social needs are met. Ensure that complaints, safeguarding alerts, incidents and accidents are dealt with in a professional manner following company policies and procedures and where necessary local authority procedures. Ensure that appropriate report of same to statutory and registratory bodies are undertaken in a timely manner Ensure that the home meets regulatory and statutory requirements including fire, health and safety, COSHH RIDDOR, employment. Focus on continuous improvements

Needs Assessment and Support Planning



Facilitate regular residents' Reviews in accordance with MB Care Group and local Authority policies. Ensure sharing of support/PCP plan information amongst relevant staff. Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with CQC, Social Services Departments and other external regulatory bodies. To ensure that care staff are appropriately inducted before being able to take responsibility for residents and to provide on the job training as required To ensure that all documentation and care and support delivered is compliant with relevant legislation and inspection bodies. Ensure that residential staff assess accurately the suitability of admission for all potential residents, record outcomes, arrange admission if necessary, liaise with family, GP and others as required.

Staffing



Ensure staff rotas are fully up to date and the home is filled staffed as per practices Ensure that all staff are recruited in line with recruitment practices and procedures. Ensure all staff have an up-to-date Enhanced DBS check Address any staffing issues in a timely manner and undertake disciplinary action as required. Manage and oversee the recruitment of staff, training, motivation, retention, communication, monitoring appraisal and disciplining as required. To maintain effective communication with Providers, staff, residents, relatives and other external stakeholders.

Resident Well Being



Actively encourage the social welfare and wellbeing of residents, contribute to the development of new ideas in residential care and in stimulation for residents to improve the quality of life. Facilitate a structured, safe, harmonious and caring environment in the home that fosters the physical and emotional well-being of the residents and staff; emphasis should be placed on teambuilding and individual growth and respect for all. Make a difference to the lives of older people ensuring that residents are encourage and supported to maintain independence and choice in a homely way Be courteous and respectful and all time to residents and relatives and retain confidentiality of residents and their families at all times.

Human Resources



To adhere to and implement all HR policies and procedures Ensure that workloads are well organised by ensuring that the off duty is well planned in advance and that agency is only used in emergencies. ensure that there is sufficient staff cover .

Marketing



Actively market the home and promote a positive personal/professional profile within the local community. Ensure the home is attractively presented and odour free, at all times Ensure a viewing room is suitably presented and available at all times Undertake networking activity within the local community with a view to developing new contacts with key people

Pay: 32,000.00-40,000.00 per year
